Transport
Getting to important appointments or social activities can become challenging without access to reliable transport. That’s where our Transport Service steps in.

At Clyst Caring Friends, we provide a friendly and dependable door-to-door transport service for older and vulnerable people who are patients of Broadclyst and Pinhole Surgery. Our service is designed to help individuals remain independent, stay connected with their community, and attend essential appointments safely and on time.

What We Offer:
-
Transport to medical appointments, including GP, hospital, dental, physiotherapy, and optician visits
-
Support getting to vaccination clinics and other health services
-
Journeys to our Day Centre or local activities, helping reduce isolation and promote wellbeing
-
A friendly team of volunteer drivers, all DBS-checked and supported by our Office Manger
-
Help getting in and out of the car and, where needed, assistance into the building

We understand that a little kindness and conversation can make a big difference. Our volunteer drivers don’t just provide transport — they offer companionship and reassurance along the way.

Who Can Use the Service?
Our transport service is available to anyone who struggles to access public transport or cannot drive themselves due to age, illness, or mobility challenges.

We aim to make transport as accessible and affordable as possible, with a suggested donation per journey to help cover fuel and running costs.

To utilize this service, please consult with your doctor or nurse, who will notify us of your need for transport. You can also reach out directly to our office manager, Ann Unwin, at 01392 464940 or complete the below table.
